Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS)

The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is a unique, interactive experience that helps individuals begin to understand what life is like with a shortage of money and an abundance of stress. It moves people to think about the harsh realities of poverty and to talk about how communities can address the problem collectively. Most importantly, it encourages people to make a difference.

The simulation is licensed and available for purchase by the Missouri Association for Community Action (MACA). To order a CAPS kit contact 573.634.2969. OASHF is licensed to facilitate CAPS, as well as to facilitate train-the-trainer workshops for individuals interested in purchasing their own CAPS kit.

Email or call Dustin Speakman at 614.221.4336 if you are interested in hosting a poverty simulation in your community.
